Spec Ops Cat - Honor Through Humor
The Few, The Proud, The Furry
My staff assistant, Kimberly A. Cook, had a chance to meet Lt. Cmdr. Tom Rancich,
Navy SEAL, retired, at author Suzanne Brockmann's Atlanta Reader event in 2006. Kim said Tom was even more entertaining in person. Hear about how he met himself in this video clip. Check out his web site at
http://www.tomrancich.com  You can read the article he talks about in
The Commandos: The Inside Story of America's Secret Soldiers
by Douglas C. Waller.

This is my staff assistant's and my all time favorite video. You've got to give those Brit lads a standing ovation for this one shot wonder. The story is Sgt. Andy Stokoe of the Royal Dragoon Guards, in the dark blue towel, came up with the idea for a parody on this song. He recruited Staff Sgt. Roger Parr to play the main role as a look alike of the original spoof. The lads filmed the video at Al Faw base in Iraq, May 13, 2005. They emailed it to Army friends in London and proceeded to crash the Ministry of Defence (MoD) computer servers. The MoD said the spoof was "brilliant" and the crash didn't cause any trouble. According to the BBC, Sgt. Parr said, "We did the video towards the end of our six-month tour in Iraq. It has been a lot of hard work and we just wanted to get a bit of a laugh and lift morale." It became a You Tube sensation and is still our all time favorite.
